Int. Running Expo: Madalina Florea, ice baths and new running tech

It’s almost happening: The International Running Expo. November 4 and 5 the RAI in Amsterdam will be the centre of the running world, where stars like Madalina Florea, winner of the Golden Trail World Series, Scott Jurek, and a lot of brands will shine their light on the latest running tech.

The International Running Expo is Europe’s first business-focused running expo. A place where thousands of brands, athletes, content creators, journalists, designers, and shop owners will meet up, look at, and discuss the latest trends and technology in running.

Latest running tech

Over 200 established and emerging worldwide brands are attending IRX, including SCOTT Sports SA, Mount to Coast, Adidas Eyewear, Tailwind Nutrition, Suunto and BUFF. They will give exclusive previews of the latest tech, nutrition, equipment and clothing innovations in running.

SCOTT Sports, for example, will be previewing their 2026 collection and new brand campaign. Throughout the show, there will be opportunities to test the 2026 collection, with guided sessions by product experts and SCOTT athletes.

Social runs and podcastsTom Foley CEO Intersport will speak at the International Running Expo in Amsterdam

The International Running Expo is above all a dynamic expo with social runs, immersive experiences, like scavenger hunts across Amsterdam’s iconic sights, ice baths, drill sessions, live DJ sets and live podcasts.

As a keynote speaker, Intersport CEO Tom Foley will explore the future of sports retail, covering innovation, sustainability, and community engagement. Alongside him will be sessions from renowned industry leaders, including Urs Webber (Editor at Runner’s World), Fabrice Perrin (UTMB Sports & Sustainability Director), Kirsty Woodbridge (Global Head of Communications at parkrun), Daniel Macaulay (Founder at Brandwave), and Manuel Holtz (Commercial Director Running & Health and Sport at Decathlon).

Scott Jurek

Fireside chats will feature running legends such as Dean Karnazes, Scott Jurek, and Susie Chan. There will also be bespoke panel sessions with industry experts on topics such as running industry trends, sustainability in running, how to build a running community, and Lessons from the Field with race directors from UTMB Group, Ourea Events, and Red Knot Racing Co.

Yoga for Runners

Many (former) athletes will also be in attendance. For example Madalina Florea, winner of the Golden Trail World Series, Colin Jackson, Richard Ringer, Nele Göhl, Jamie Baulch and Ian Morgan.

Plus there will be wide range of content creators and influencers, like plogger Paul Waye, Strava artist Sander Gabel (Runbrandt), Sonia Haboub, Tasha Thompson, Emma Kirk-Odunibi and John Kraijenbrink, who will be teaching two Yoga for Runners workshops with a focus on recovery and range of motion.
