Sand in front of me, sand behind me, sand next to me, sand underneath me. There is even sand between my teeth.

Today is a special day: Sara's birthday. And she’s having fun. Lots of fun, at this Eindejaarstrail in Giersbergen.

It was hard, hot and heavy. But have to admit: I didn’t do that bad at the Schoorlse Duinen Trail in Groet.

I look at my watch. How far did we already run during this Schoorlse Duinen Trail? The answer is terrifying.

We’re in Groet, the Netherlands for a weekend away. We just went running through the sand dunes. Beautiful, but hard.
