Woodward and Horton win Canyons Endurance Runs

Canyon Woodward and Elena Horton have won the 100 miles (5.548m+) at the UTMB Canyons Endurance Run in the United States. Katie Schide and Rod Farvard were the strongest in the 100 kilometres race (3.247m+).

Woodward (United States) was the only one who ran the 159,9 kilometres in nineteen hours; 18:54:32. Behind him Nicholas Lightbody (Canada) finished second in 19:14:17. Nick Orr came in third in 19:55:51.

Easy victory Horton

Elena Horton (United States) won the women’s race. Horton, who won the 60k at the Black Canyon in February, finished with her time of 21 hours, 35 minutes and 56 seconds 8th overall. She was an hour faster than the number two, Jacquie Mannhard (US); 22:35:52. Sonia Ahuja grabbed third place in 23:11:53.

100k for Schide

Katie Schide (US) won the 100 kilometres race. She was with her time of 9:10:10 6h overall and finished 51 minutes faster than EmKay Sullivan (US) who came in second in 10:01:26. Anna Kacius (US) finished third in 10:24:37.

The men’s race was a closer affair, with the top 3 being within 11 minutes of each other. Rod Farvard (US) won in 8:44:30, Drew Holmen finished second in 8:51:09 and Petter Engdahl (Sweden) third in 8:55:31.
