Taking a little break

My mind blank, my body hot and my muscles relaxing. This is life. Sara and I are taking a little break. Just a few days in the sauna; reading, relaxing, rejuvenating.

Things have been crazy lately. Well, ever since we went to Italy on our yoga tour. Travelling and teaching yoga is fun, but lots of work didn’t get done. I’ve already told you, so I’m not going to get into that again. However, coming home, we decided to reorganise a few things. A good thing, but more work. That’s why we’re now in the sauna, to clear our minds.

Trail des Fantomes

I think it’s important to take a break every now and then. A break from work, a break from running. I planned one running break last month, but after two weeks I put my shoes on again, as I came up with a new goal. The first step towards that goal is the Trail des Fantomes, half of August.

That’s another reason I’m in the sauna. I don’t think my body has totally recovered from the Dolomiti Extreme Trail. Having my third lumbar vertebra unblocked by the osteopath was a step in the right direction, but my right hip is still not happy. Yesterday I had a massage, here in Thermen Busloo and the massage therapist discovered that my Piriformis is contracted. So stretching and sauna will do it good.

Trail run Voorst

Taking a little break doesn’t mean we’re not running. This afternoon Sara and I went out for a run, using the AllTrails app. That’s still the one I go too, when I have no idea where to run. Nothing crazy, just 10 kilometers from the hotel and back, through the forest of Voorst. The best thing; afterwards we took a cold bath and another hot sauna. Long live the little break.
