All Chinese podium at UTMB Mount Yun

Jiaju Zhao and Wenfei Xie (both China) have won the 100 miles UTMB Mount Yun race in China. Ji Duo and Anna Li (both China) won the 100 kilometres race.

All podium places in the 100m, 100k and 50k races went to China, which wasn’t a surprise because there were hardly any non-Chinese trail runners competing.

Zhao needed 17 hours, 5 minutes and 57 seconds to complete the 143,7 kilometres (7505m+). With that time he was more than half an hour faster than Jiqian Wang, who came in second in 17:39:28. Weiqiang Zhang finished third in 19:15:32.

Simple victory Xie

Wenfei Xie won unthreatened. She finished in 23:03:50, which was good for 10th place overall. Last year she won the Swiss Alps 100 miles, and finished 4th in UTMB’s Doi Inthanon race in Thailand and 22nd at Western States (USA).

Ronghua Deng grabbed second place in 23:44:24. Xiaoxia Yang came in third in 24:08:22.

100 kilometres

Anna Li, the number 34 of last year’s UTMB CCC, needed 11:53:08 to run the 96,8 kilometres (4356m+). That was good for 7tg overall. She was, with her time of 11:53:08, ten minutes faster than Wenrong Zheng (12:03:02), who took second place (8th overall). Liping Wang came in third in 12:12:46. Good for 9th overall.

Ji Duo finished in 9:36:05. Eleven minutes faster than Zhao Hu (9:47:07), who came in second. Third place was for Jiasheng Shen in 9:59:37. Duo won last year the 100 miles of Doi Inthanon (Thailand). He finished 14th at the UTMB.

50 kilometres

Tao Luo won the men’s MMY, the 50 kilometres race (2.407m+) in a time of 4:03:39. With his win he took revenge for last year, when he finished second. Second place was for Guangfu Meng, the number 8th of last year’s OCC, in 4:09:34. Third place went to Erqing Wu in 4:14:38.

Fuzhao Xiang, the number 4 of last year’s UTMB, won the women’s race in 4:53:01; good for 6th overall.
Ting Zhang came in second in 5:01:27. Na Zhang finished third in 5:09:16.
