Running in Maastricht

Coming Thursday Sara and I will be running in Maastricht. Or better, just outside of Maastricht. It’s our favorite city in the Netherlands. Probably because it has the most beautiful bookshop we’ve ever seen; Dominicanen. An old church turned into a bookshop. We can spend hours in there.

We hoped to have a short holiday from this weekend up until the New Year, but there’s too much work to do. So tomorrow, Sunday, we’ll be working. Same for Monday. Tuesday is a back up day. We hope to be done, but in case we’re not, we’ll work.

Escape

To make sure we don’t work the rest of the week, we decided to escape to Maastricht for a few days . It also gives us the option to escape the house, now Maus is not with us anymore. The house feels cold and empty without her.

But we’re runners now. Well, I already was, Sara is a runner now as well. So we’re going to combine a day in Maastricht with a run around there. I told you, we’re always looking for altitude. Well, Limburg has it. That’s the province Maastricht is in.

Running around Saint Peter

I think I’ve found a nice trail run. It’s around the Sint-Pietersberg, the mountain of Saint Peter. And no, that is not a real mountain. It’s a hill. But we’re Dutch. As soon as something is a little bit high, we like to call it a mountain. Otherwise we wouldn’t have mountains at all.

So yes, a midweek of book shopping, a spa to relax, and a run to get our legs tired again, how does that sound as motivation to get all the work done by Tuesday?
